A sponsor renews when the prior relationship was handled well and the next opportunity is still useful. Renewal is not automatic. Begin by completing the current agreement, acknowledging support, sharing a clear recap, and asking what the business found useful or would change.
Prepare before the renewal conversation
| Review item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Current agreement | Confirms what was actually promised. |
| Fulfillment record | Shows whether each deliverable was completed or adjusted. |
| Evidence and activity context | Gives the sponsor a concrete view of the partnership. |
| Sponsor feedback | Identifies what the business valued, missed, or wants to change. |
| Next period plan | Makes it possible to discuss timing, inventory, and a relevant new offer. |
Ask, then listen
A renewal conversation can be simple: “We appreciated your support for the Spring League. We have included the recap. Before we plan the next season, is there anything you would want to keep, change, or remove?” Do not lead with a higher price or assume the sponsor wants the same package.
If the sponsor declines, thank the business, complete any remaining obligations, and keep the relationship respectful. A useful local connection may return in another season or fit a different organization activity.
