You can offer a sponsor only what your organization has the right and ability to deliver. Start with actual inventory, not a long list of promises. Inventory may be physical, digital, event-based, recurring, or in-kind. The useful question is not simply, “What can we sell?” It is, “What can we provide clearly and reliably that a relevant business may value?”
Common sponsorship inventory
| Inventory type | Examples | Details to define |
|---|---|---|
| Physical visibility | Court signs, banners, shirts, printed materials, event displays. | Size, location, duration, design rules, installation, and removal. |
| Digital visibility | Website feature, directory listing, newsletter mention, social post. | Page or channel, date, duration, link, content approval, and quantity. |
| Event participation | Vendor table, product display, sampling, announcement, award recognition. | Time, space, equipment, rules, staffing, and event approval. |
| Program support | Clinic, scholarship, team, equipment, court time, volunteer activity. | What the contribution supports and how recognition will occur. |
| Member value | Approved offer, discount, product trial, educational resource. | Eligibility, distribution, redemption, privacy, and audience relevance. |
| Naming or exclusivity | Court, program, event area, presenting role, category limit. | Exact asset, term, approved name, rights, restrictions, and renewal terms. |
Protect credibility
Do not call a possible business result a sponsor benefit. For example, a website link is a deliverable; website visits are a possible result. A vendor table is a deliverable; new customer leads are a possible result. That distinction helps organizations create honest packages and helps sponsors know what they are buying.
Before offering any item, confirm venue rules, governing-body requirements, existing agreements, brand permissions, participant safety, and staff capacity. Secure sponsor approval before publicizing its logo, name, offer, or claim.
